Handcrafted Off-White Paithani Silk Linen Saree with All-Over Butti & Blouse Piece

Apparel (Dresses, Shirts, Jackets)

Handcrafted Off-White Paithani Silk Linen Saree with All-Over Butti & Blouse Piece

An off-white ground, quiet and luminous, becomes the canvas for the Paithani tradition's most recognisable signature: the butti, small woven motifs scattered across the body of the saree in a rhythm that rewards close looking. This silk linen rendition brings the structural elegance of Paithani weaving into a lighter, more breathable fabric, ideal for those who want the heritage and grace of the form without the heavier drape of pure silk. The all-over butti pattern gives the saree a continuous, textured surface, never busy, always considered. Off-white is among the most versatile saree shades, equally suited to daytime ceremonies and evening festivities, and pairs beautifully with gold, oxidised silver, or coloured stonework jewellery. This saree is handcrafted, carrying the small irregularities and individual character that come with traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations of Paithani artisans. A matching blouse piece is included, so the saree is ready to be styled and tailored as soon as it arrives.

Handcrafted Sea Green Banarasi Kota Tissue Saree

Apparel (Dresses, Shirts, Jackets)

Handcrafted Sea Green Banarasi Kota Tissue Saree

A sea green so luminous it seems to hold light within its weave, this Banarasi Kota Tissue saree carries the airy, translucent quality that has made Kota tissue one of Varanasi's most prized textile innovations. The base is light and breathable, woven on traditional Banarasi looms, while premium zari work runs through the fabric in fine metallic thread, catching the light with every fold and movement of the drape. This is a saree built for occasions that call for understated radiance rather than overstatement. The sea green shade sits between cool and warm, a versatile festive tone that flatters a wide range of skin tones and pairs easily with both gold and silver jewellery. A matching blouse piece comes with the saree, so the look arrives complete and ready for the tailor. Handcrafted by artisans working within the Banarasi weaving tradition, this saree carries forward a textile lineage that has defined Indian celebratory dressing for generations. Each piece reflects the small variations and individual character that only handloom work can offer.

Koku Cards

Games & Puzzles

Koku Cards

Koku Cards is a fast, sharp, genuinely fun card game built around 57 symbols drawn from India's folk and cultural universe: a Warli bird, a dholak, a camel, a supda, a peacock feather, a tarpa. The symbols are illustrated in a vivid, folk-art-inflected style, small enough to sit on a hexagonal card, recognisable enough to shout out loud. Every card in the deck carries 8 symbols. Any two cards in the game share exactly one matching symbol. The job of every player, in every round, is to find that one symbol before anyone else does and call it out first. Simple in concept, genuinely hard in practice. The more you play, the faster your eye gets, and the more you find yourself recognising a rangoli or a shankh before your brain has fully caught up. The game comes with three modes. Koku is the core game: distribute cards, place one in the centre, find the matching symbol between your card and the central one, and be the first player to empty your pile. Neighbours Envy flips the stakes: here, you are trying to snatch cards from opponents rather than discard your own, and finishing your cards first means you lose rather than win. Reverse Koku turns the whole deck face up into a tower; players draw one card at a time, race to find the match with the central card, and collect what they win. Most cards at the end takes it. Koku Cards works for 2 players or 12. It takes about thirty seconds to explain and no time at all to get competitive. ### Why This Game Stands Out ### - Each symbol is drawn from India's cultural and folk art traditions, so the game doubles as an informal introduction to objects, instruments and motifs that span the subcontinent. - Three distinct game modes give the deck real longevity. The same cards play completely differently depending on which mode you choose, and the dynamics shift meaningfully across group sizes. - The hexagonal card format and folk-art illustration style give Koku Cards a visual identity that stands out immediately from standard playing card decks. - The one-matching-symbol mechanic is mathematically precise: no two cards ever share more than one symbol, which means every round is fair and every call is verifiable.

Dudh Lautawa: A Gond Wedding Tradition by Kaushal Prasad Tekam

Dudh Lautawa: A Gond Wedding Tradition is an original Gond painting by acclaimed artist Kaushal Prasad Tekam, depicting the traditional Dudh Lautawa ceremony practiced among Gond communities of Central India. Dudh Lautawa, literally meaning "returning the milk," is an important wedding ritual that symbolizes gratitude, reciprocity, and the bonds between families. The ceremony acknowledges the nurturing role of the maternal family and celebrates the social relationships that sustain community life. In this painting, the bride, groom, family members, and ceremonial participants gather around a richly adorned Tree of Life, a recurring symbol of continuity, prosperity, and interconnectedness in Gond culture. The branches of the tree are filled with ceremonial objects, ornaments, musical instruments, and symbols of abundance, while birds animate the composition, representing harmony and the transmission of cultural knowledge across generations. Through intricate patterns and vibrant colours, Kaushal Prasad Tekam transforms this living tradition into a powerful visual narrative that preserves and celebrates Gond cultural heritage. * Artist: Kaushal Prasad Tekam * Medium: Acrylic on Canvas * Dimensions: 36 × 48 Inches * Art Form: Gond Art * Origin: Madhya Pradesh, India

Rich in detail and symbolism, this work celebrates biodiversity, harmony, and the enduring relationship between humans and the natural world. * Artist: Kaushal Prasad Tekam * Size: 48 X 37 inches * Art Form: Gond Art * Medium: Acrylic on Canvas * Style: Contemporary Gond Tribal Art Origin: Madhya Pradesh, India

Birds

Tribal Art

Birds

They go in every direction. Some point upward, some hang suspended at an angle, some face left, some right, one small pair rests at the bottom edge of the composition as though they have only just landed and have not yet decided where to go next. There is no flock logic here, no shared trajectory. Each bird occupies its own orientation within the white ground, as though thought itself has been given a body and scattered across the page in the moment before it coheres into something more orderly. This is precisely what Sandip Dhurve intended. The birds in this painting are a self-portrait of the mind at work, of the thoughts that arrive while the hand is moving, that go sideways and upside down and diagonal before they find their direction. Each bird is built with the same patient attention: scale patterning across the rounded body, fine parallel hatching in the wings, a large watchful eye, a sharp beak that points wherever the creature is going. No two are oriented alike. Together they create not chaos but the honest record of a mind thinking, which has its own rhythm and its own logic even when it does not announce them. Dhurve works in the Gond tradition of Madhya Pradesh, where the natural world is understood as continuous with the inner one, where a bird is never only a bird. Drawn on paper in monochrome, this work is one of the most intimate in his practice: a composition that is also a confession, a field of creatures that is also a field of thought. ### Why This Artwork Stands Out ### - The scattered, multi-directional arrangement of the birds translates the movement of thought into compositional form, making the painting's structure and its subject inseparable from one another. - Each bird is individually rendered with the full vocabulary of Gond mark-making, scale, hatch and dot, giving a composition of repeated forms, the intimacy and variation of a hand-written page. - The large, expressive eyes on each figure give the scattered birds a quality of alert interiority, so that the composition feels less like an observation of nature and more like an encounter with consciousness. - Dhurve's willingness to make his own thinking the subject of a Gond painting is a quietly radical gesture, demonstrating the tradition's capacity to hold personal and philosophical content within its visual language.

Porcupine

Porcupine

The tree and the animal are not two separate subjects. They have grown into one another so completely that it is no longer possible to say where the roots end and the creature begins. The porcupine moves through the lower half of the composition with a grounded, unhurried confidence, its body built from the same visual vocabulary as the tree above it: dotwork, scale patterning, close hatching, the layered marks of a hand that understands every living form as a system of interconnected textures. From its back, a great sweep of quills rises and fans outward, and it is here that the tree takes over, the quills becoming roots becoming trunk becoming the wide, bird-filled canopy that crowns the entire composition. The transition is seamless because in the Gond world view it is not a transition at all. It is simply how things are. Birds perch throughout the upper branches with the ease of creatures that have always lived here. The canopy is dense and full, rendered in the close dotwork and branching line that Sandip Dhurve uses to suggest not just foliage but the accumulated life that foliage supports. The white background throughout is not emptiness but space, held open so that the intricate mark-making of the figure can breathe. Dhurve works in the Gond tradition of Madhya Pradesh, a visual language built on the understanding that every creature carries a world within it, and that the relationship between animal, tree and bird is not metaphor but fact. This painting makes that fact visible, quietly and without argument, in the most direct and patient of marks. ### Why This Artwork Stands Out ### - The seamless visual integration of porcupine and tree collapses the boundary between animal and plant into a single, continuous form, expressing the Gond worldview of ecological interconnection with rare compositional intelligence. - The transition from quill to root to trunk to canopy is achieved entirely through mark-making, demonstrating Dhurve's mastery of the Gond visual vocabulary across multiple textures within a single work. - The birds in the canopy and the porcupine at the base establish a complete vertical ecology, from earth to sky, within the space of one quietly extraordinary image. - The monochromatic palette gives the intricate surface detail its full authority, with no colour to distract from the quality and precision of the mark itself.
